Abstract: In my commentary, I focus on Ostaric’s account of the relation between the faculty of reflective judgment and empirical reality. She emphasizes, correctly, that the purposiveness at issue in the third Critique is a purposiveness of nature. I consider whether Ostaric’s “moral image realism” can connect reflective judgment to nature in a truly realist fashion, and argue that it cannot.
